Palmerston to Darwin, NT
40 km (24.8 mi)

Ride was a little busy into Darwin, typical big city (i.e. 50,000 people) traffic. Poor Maree had a flat tire even before we got out of the caravan park. Bummer.

Rode around Darwin for awhile. A guy flagged us down and asking what we were looking for (a bike shop). He told us where one was and then said "welcome to Darwin!" Got a box at the bike shop and then headed to Maree's friend Linda's north of Darwin.

Spent the night eating Thai food and drinking beer at Linda's. Took Maree to the airport and she flapped her arms really hard and flew away. Actually, when she checked in they said they were boarding the plane already, which seemed a little early. Linda and I found out from the taxi driver that they were having problems in the control tower and the plane wasn't even showing up on the screen or was showing that it had already left. weird. Back to riding by myself...
